To me, there’s always something special about setting New Year’s Resolutions, and a fresh start, but by March most of us have gone back to old habits, no matter how good our intentions are at the start of the year.
In this week’s video, I’m sharing some of my tips that help me stay on track and stick to and create new lifelong habits.
1: It should be about you
What is it you want to achieve? Often people set new year’s resolutions and goals based on what others think they should do or become. This can be harder to stick to as it’s not what we truly believe in or want to achieve.
2: One goal at a time
It can be so easy to focus on lots of different things you want to achieve, but try picking one goal at a time and then add to it!
3: Break it down
What is your main goal? When you have that in mind, focus on the small things you can do to break that down further. What will you do each month to achieve that, each week, each day?
4: Be patient and celebrate
Certain healthy habit changes take time, so be patient with yourself and celebrate the wins, even if you think it’s only small, it’s still a win!
5: Be grateful
Practicing gratitude can help keep you motivated. Try thinking of 3-5 things each day that you’re grateful for.
Let me know in the comments what your new year resolutions were and if you’ve managed to stick to them.
