With a family history of type 2 diabetes and heart disease - both lifestyle related diseases, I knew I had to make some changes.
My passion for creating a healthier lifestyle grew to not only helping myself, but sharing what I've learned with others.
Gratitudes and drinking a glass of water - hydration before caffination!
Working up a sweat in body combat or relaxing with a good book.
Looking after my gut health first. With regular movement and nutritious food.
Movement has always been a part of my life.
When I was younger you'd always find me dancing, at my local athletics club, or playing some kind of sport.
Then life took over until exercise wasn't a priority anymore and my diet was whatever was quick and easy.
When I turned 30 I started to take my family history of type 2 diabetes and heart disease seriously. I gradually got myself back into exercise and created a regular routine, lost two stone, and found my love of fitness again.
In the process of doing this I also discovered how exercise and nourishing my body with real food made me feel good.
Taking everything I learned, I knew I wanted to help other. So I trained as a personal trainer and health coach.
Type 2 diabetes and heart disease are lifestyle related diseases, and incorporating exercise and healthy eating into your life can help reduce the risks of developing these types of diseases.
Health doesn't have a weight, size or body shape. We're all different, and what works for one person won't necessarily work for you.
That's why I take a personalised approach by helping you find exercise that you enjoy and healthy eating habits that fit into your life.
“It’s like all of my life everyone has told me ‘you’re a shoe’ and then today I just stopped and thought
‘What if I don’t want to be a shoe? What if I want to be a purse? You know? Or a hat?’ ”
Standing at 5ft 1", fitness comes in all shapes and sizes.
It breaks my heart to see people forcing themselves to do workouts they hate and restricting their favourite foods because they want to lose weight. While feeling miserable in the process.
My true passion in life is helping you to start enjoying exercise, however that may look for you. And discovering how delicious real food is!
Life is all about ups and downs and I'm here to help you ride the wave creating a sustainable healthy lifestyle for YOU.
We all have the superpower to create the best version of our life.
I would recommend Jo to anyone that needs a little support and clarity. I felt so much more positive focused on my goals after our session and am now back on track.
"Jo helped me to realise that I need to be careful not to overwhelm myself with taking on too much in one go"
Able to explore a subject in a knowledgable and empathetic way, while allowing me to self-access my own approach as we talked.
After the session I felt energised, refreshed and motivated. I have my goals in mind and am still on track after a few weeks.
"I found Joanne insightful and a good listener"
Her attitude to having a healthy lifestyle motivates me to keep positive and determined to continue to be kind to my body. Not only is Jo a great support but also the kindest person I know.
She is there for me when I need her, very loyal, and I'm lucky enough to call her a friend.
"Jo has been an amazing support to me during many years of weight loss "
